Arriving
This day is dedicated for gathering the group and meet each other. It’s recommended to arrive at the north airport (use this code when you search flights “TFN” ), because it’s closer to La Laguna, the town where we will spend the first night in a 3-star hotel or guest house. You will get info with details by e-mail after booking, so you can check-in anytime of the day of your arrival. La Laguna is the old capital of Tenerife. It’s tiny downtown streets have a lot to say. To read more about it click here.
After breakfast in La Laguna we will head up north. Till noon we will do a 3 hour easy level hike. Starting from the village of Chamorga. Then going to check-in and have lunch in the mountain hut “Albergue de Anaga” where we will spend the night. The afternoon is dedicated for a swim in the ocean at the beach of Las Teresitas.
After breakfast at the mountain hut, we will start going down to the village of Punta de Hidalgo. Very relaxing walk. It’s an atmospheric trail that will hold your breath. The route goes through some terraced fields, where potatoes and pumpkins are grown, and then continues through an area of land that rises in steps going past rocks, boulders and caves. In this area are some deeper caves that are commonly used to rest or shelter in. In the final third of the route we will reach the Roque de Los Dos Hermanos (the Two Brothers’ Rock), above La Fajana Beach, from where you can enjoy some excellent panoramic views of the Anaga coastline. Then we will have lunch in a local restaurant near the sea. Next stop Puerto de La Cruz.
In the morning we’ll have time to explore Puerto de la Cruz. The oldest touristic town in Tenerife home of festivals, botanic gardens, and one of the best zoo park in the world. ( We don’t support animal captivity for entertainment, but if you like to visit it the ticket cost’s around 40 euros).
After lunch we are going to the National Park of Teide visiting the tourist centre where we can get to know more about the geology of the volcano. Then we’ll get to Altavista hut located at 3400m. alt. where we’ll spend the night. To go to the hut we will take the cable car and walk down about 1 hour. Tonight’s supper will be limited to a package box as the hut doesn’t supply any catering. Stargazing is breathtaking at that altitude.
See all the Canary islands at your fingertips. Breath one of the cleanest air in the world.
To experience all the above we need to wake up 2 hours before the sunrise, prepare and walk about 1 hour and 40min. to get from the hut to Peak Teide. After the spectacular show of the sun we will take the cable car. The station is 20 minutes walk from the summit. Then we go to the south part of the island where we can take sunbath on the beach and relax.
It’s a three-hour walk from the village through dramatic scenery till the ocean.
Masca is one of the most picturesque parts of the island and is located in the northwest at the foot of the Teno Mountains. This beautiful little village may be somewhat difficult to reach but it is well worth the journey, which takes you through deep ravines interlaced with lush green flora and winding roads with hairpin bends. The scenery on the way is breathtaking and once you reach Masca, the natural beauty of this stunning location is overwhelming.
After reaching the beach we will hop in kayaks to reach the small town of Los Gigantes. Snorkelling during the trip is also posible. Here is an option for those of you who are not so keen to paddle with a kayak to take a boat and wait for the rest of the group in one of the nice coffee shops around the port. OR if the weather doesn’t allow us to get kayaks we all have to take the boat. If we are lucky we can see some dolphins on the way.
After lunch we will go back to the accommodation and have the afternoon free.
The next day (day 7) is dedicated for departure. For the ones of you willing to stay more we’ll be happy to see you around.
This is about us.
